Impetigo is a superficial contagious infection. It occurs in the epidermis, commonly on the face. This infection is classified as either nonbullous or bullous. Bullous is considered less contagious. Impetigo is caused by rapidly growing bacteria such as Group AB- hemolytic strrrrretococcus and Staphlococcus aureus. The usual sign of occurring impetigo is grouped and ruptured lesions with a red base on the skin commonly around the nose and mouth area of the face. The lesions are opened but closed over with a honey colored crust. A physical examination could confirm the appearance of this unique infection.
