Researchers conducted the surveys via telephone by first asking the age. Participant must be 18 and over. Also, the questions asked were “Yes” or “No” questions. There were 1500 randomly chosen participants; 1310 participated in the full 20 minutes survey questionnaire. I found this fact surprised, because I will finish the call at the third minute of the interview. I like the idea of a phone survey questionnaire, however the questions provided in the research did not have a correlation to the topic name. Also, I did not specify who was interview. I think this is a variable that will have a complete different outcome. In different words, the research should be conducted in an equanime portion of participants immigrants and nonimmigrants. I found this strange because the research is about “Immigrant Environmental Behaviors in New York City”. I believe there should I also like the way that the researcher organize the study. Method, Literature, Analysis, Data and Results.
Furthermore, the research establish two hypothesis in order to analyze the social issue:
First Hypothesis:
Controlling for environmental orientation environmental knowledge acculturation, community attachment and economic status will reduce immigrant/native - born differences.
Second Hypothesis:
Controlling for race will increase immigrant/native born.
As per the research conclusion, the most important fact drawn from their findings is that the viability of the environmental movement in the cities with large populations of immigrants can be enhanced if environmental organizations develop means of integrating immigrants into environmental politics. The analysis revealed that immigrants were much less likely than the native-born to engage in environmentally related political behavior. These differences have important implications for efforts to build a more inclusive and diverse environmental movement. There were two conclusions drawn by the researches
