It was a few years ago when I was young and wise, that someone my age but older stood and claimed jubilantly, "Ignorance is Bliss", the wonderfully dreadfully, perfect mistake people make. What is so blissful about not knowing, better yet, purposely not wanting to know truth? The idea that Ignorance is Bliss makes sense to most, I mean, yeah, the truth can hurt but think about it. Removing a band-aid fast is far better than doing so in a slow and agonizingly painful manner. The difference with knowing is that pain is temporary, pain is understood, pain shapes the future.…

For the purpose of this paper, and a full understanding of the topic discussed, immerse yourself in these circumstances, as if you are the patient. You are lying in a hospital bed, unable to move, wanting to talk to your mom as she talks by your side, but unable to speak. You listen to the nurse and doctor speak to your family as if you are not there, as if you cannot hear or understand each word. You are angry, you are frustrated, and you can't even make a sound. You are only able to exist within a seemingly lifeless body as you reminisce on your life and all the memories with you friends, your family, and perhaps your children as you chased them around in the backyard.…

The better part of my time in high school was spent in a little coffee shop and bakery, called Dough Ray Me. The shop was a cute place, with twinkling fairy lights that draped from the ceiling like sails on an unearthly ship. Moving down from the ceiling were the walls, which were littered with either coffee, or Christian themed artwork. Below the walls were shelves that housed sizable jugs of an assortment of coffee beans. The glass cabinets, containing shortbreads, cupcakes, and cookies, met with the stainless steel counters around the barista’s workspace in a minimalistic fashion.…

After sixteen years of careful contemplation, I have unquestionably concocted the recipe for a perfect family. Although the intentions were always sincere, I entered the world with an extremely sheltered, yet ignorant perception of life. I grew up in a nurturing two parent household, a kind of household that you’d read in the story books. Blissfully ignorant of anything that did not consist of receiving, I would most likely fit your description of a “privileged child.” My childish ignorance blinded me from the problems of the outside world.…

Something I hate Fire is one of the main things that has allowed our race to advance; without it we would not be able to light furnaces, which power engines, which power cities, which allow us to live our technologically advanced lives. All mammals cannot survive without heat, it is something they all desire, due to the fear of hypothermia and other related conditions. Other mammals seek each other for warmth, we simply turn up the heating making our lives a shear privilege. Because of being spoilt on heat, we have become more sensitive to lower temperatures and having: goose bumps covering our skin, teeth chattering, body shaking and feeling uncomfortably cold are all symptoms of “something I hate”.…

Tolstoy states that ignorance, “consists in not knowing, not understanding, that life is an evil and an absurdity” (Tolstoy). He says that mainly women and young children are subject to the category of ignorance. He views these groups of people as not being capable of pondering ideas as complex as the meaning of life. They take pleasure in licking the honey and live life in a state of ignorant bliss. But Tolstoy also states that people can only stay in a state of ignorance for so long, “something will turn their attention to the dragon and the ice, and there will be an end to they're licking”…
