The painting “Jamestown” shows that men are transporting bricks and other constructing uses that are helping people to have homes for their family. For instance, there is a men having bricks in his carriage to transport stuff to other people who are making their homes. This shows that the men who is transporting the bricks are selling them to get money for their families. Also, the wealthy people who buy constructing uses or bricks are using it to get a house for their culture and the economy. All in all, people are building houses and transporting uses are growing the city to be a big community.…

Jamestown began in the Spring of 1607, when one hundred or so colonists, with the blessing of King James I of England, arrived in Chesapeake Bay. They arrived with the hopes of gaining riches, finding better trade routes, and starting a permanent English settlement. However, the settlers found 15,000 Powhatan Indians and a few Spanish warships ready to send them back to England. Most of the colonists died in Jamestown because of fighting between the Powhatan Indians and colonists. Document B is a chart from J Frederick Fausz’s article titled “An Abundance of Bloodshed on Both Sides: England’s First Indian War, 1609-1614,”.…
Jamestown is oftenly referred to as the first permanent English settlement in the New World in 1607. Although it was the first permanent settlement, it had numerous problems which almost ended the colony. The colonists of early Jamestown died because of the poor relations with the natives, the diseases, and starvation. To begin, the colonists were unable to survive because the native relations did not exist. The graph on document B shows the average rainfall of the region, and there appears to be a drought at the beginning of the colony’s existence.…
It went from life to death. In the early year of 1607 English settlers traveled to Jamestown, Virginia by ships in looking for gold as well as a settlement. Why did so many colonists die? In 1607, Captain John Smith and hundreds of settlers sailed across the atlantic ocean and founded the first New England colony, Jamestown. They landed in modern-day Virginia and established a profit colony for the Virginia Company. However, the colonist had only temporary housing and minimal food supplies, plus a swampy environment on the James River caused disease and malnutrition killing someone almost everyday. The colonists also had encounters of the native indians near the settlement; some were hostile to the "invaders", but some had been friendly as well to the Englishmen. With more and more colonists arriving at Jamestown, the indians began to try to starve the English out as the were expanding and disrupting indian hunting and picking…
On the other hand, Jamestown and Plymouth had quite a bit of things that were different from each other for example, their reason to leave England, and the amount of people who came on each voyage. Nevertheless both contributed greatly to present American heritage of law, custom, government, religion, and heritage. Therefore Jamestown and Plymouth were very important to modern America, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without these two…
The first settlement I created was Jamestown, and I placed Jamestown right by the water, so when the boat arrived back from England with new supplies, it would have a settlement right there to unload food, tools, and more people. Jamestown would be the settlement for docks, fishing, and fisherman. From history class, I learned that the real Jamestown colony was settled right by the water also, in hopes of allowing the Jamestown colony to thrive. The second settlement I created was Puddin, and I placed Puddin right by a river to improve the outcome of the survival of the citizens living within. The settlement Puddin was near both water and trees, so Puddin would be the settlement for lumber making.…

If I was to recreate the Jamestown colony, my first priority would be to send hard working people. I would make sure those people would have good work ethic and could work together. Some main occupations i would look for in people would be a doctor or nurse in case of any emergencies. A farmer could come in hand with helping grow crops and farm for food , because you need food in order to survive. a man that could build well, also aa blacksmith for any metal needs any women that could sew to create clothes would come in hand.…
