My ideology is American liberalism which is open to change, especially of subjects that benefits the whole in contrast to the selected few. It often looks to scientific data and sources for direction instead of traditional or religious understandings. I have many different beliefs and values and they 're all important to me so I categorize them in their own section. Sections include but limited to social, economical, environmental, national, or international.
Social: I don 't believe we need an absolute equality such as a same-sex bathroom/locker room, women being drafted the same as men, or everyone allowed in an exclusive club. Economical: According to the political spectrum, liberalism is between socialism and conservatism. Although socialism and liberalism is on the left-wing, it does not mean that liberalism agrees with the socialist system. As much as our system of capitalism is full of faults, it does not mean I totally agree with the economic system of socialism. According to Amita Shastri, the socialist state “should own and manage all wealth” and “distribute it to employ everyone to satisfy their needs” (Shastri). With appropriate regulations, the liberal state can provide solutions for everybody, including the poor.
With our current capitalistic system, it is only benefitting the rich and jeopardizing the poor and helpless. The gap between the richest 1% and the majority 99% is widening. This informs me that corporate greed is flourishing and not enough money is spent for job opportunity and investment on the future generation. Apple charge so much for their products while they 're going to places around the globe where they can pay their lowest tax rate unlike the rest of the population that has to pay their fair share of tax. All institutions (government, investment banks, financial conglomerates, insurance companies, credit rating agencies, lenders) only cared about money and their own reputation that it eventually …show more content…
We need to put more research into alternative fuel because drilling oil, air pollution, nuclear plants, and oil dependence are time bombs waiting to happen and the best fix we have to a disaster is a sorry. Various ecosystems and species are being destroyed by overfishing, exotic pets turning into invasive species, deforestation, crossbreeding, and chemical contamination.
American conservatism would not believe in global warming, look to nature for its resources and how our country can gain from it.
National: I believe that one of our main problem in our nation is overpopulating our jails of people with minor offenses and over sentences. There are police that are doing their job rightfully and abiding to what they made their oath to. However, we have police that are abusing their power especially over the discriminated or minority. Don 't get me started on gun rights.
American conservatism would be on the side of the police saying that they are doing their job dealing with criminals, and would want less restrictions on gun possessions because they like their guns and have a right to protect themselves and others against harmful
