Chapter Four : Fashion Clothing and Identity Formation 4.1 Introduction
In this chapter, data collected will be analysed and discoursed within the issues of Identity and clothing wear, detailing and explaining each sub-topic in a systematic approach to cover the intended parts of this research study. Within this section of the research, perspective of the youths of Brunei will determine whether their clothing wear or fashion lifestyle have a signifiant impact towards their own identity, of which is based off the data collected from responded interviewees and surveys. Highlights within this chapter will be dwelling on how these Bruneian youths view fashion as a whole and how their identity are constructed by their clothing wear.

Previously in the early chapters of this research paper, sociological perspective and theories pertaining to the argument of clothing wear and definition of fashion have been explained throughout a series of literature review and relevant readings. “When i first starred finding my fashion grounds, it was to do with expressing who I was, who I am, linked with the process of finding my identity. It was just after i was dealing with my self-esteem issues and I wanted to feel confident with myself but at the same tie expressing who I was through clothes. I dress differently today than I did before, because I am a different person now.” - Respondent #5
It is apparent which touches on Csikszentmihalyi’s statement that the self is able to form itself throughout time with the aid of objects to structure a sense of self status and position in the social
