Nursing has always been an interest for me since I was a little girl. People told me throughout the years that I would change my mind on the career I can see myself doing. After getting to know all the specific information and doing the research behind it all really opened my eyes to a whole level of knowledge and interesting facts about nursing. To begin with, one must have compassion, on point critical thinking skills, and be able to remain calm during stressful situations. Another ideal characteristic to have is a non-judgmental mindset. The nursing field is one that provides many benefits to those who choose to pursue it; the education, job benefits, positive job outlook and competitive salary make the field ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others.

First, critical thinking skills are a must; this cannot be stressed enough. Also, compassion for others is essential trait to have. Must be willing to understand where patients and their families are going through. Provided that, communication skills is another must to have mastered. More importantly one must be able to work under a variety of pressure; while also being well organized. Finally, must be willing to learn new things, because in this field things are always changing and improving for not only nurses but the patient they treat as well. There is also some perquisites to begin nursing training which including the following; must be at least 18 years old, with at least a high school diploma or GED.
