The most common example of fits of anger over a minimal situation is road rage. In some instances, individuals have had changes in mood, tension, and energy before an outburst occurs. IED is categorized under the "Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorders". This disorder is difficult to fit into one category since it shared instances of other comorbitiy with other mood disorders like bipolar disorder. The act of an IED outburst is be associated with a feeling of relief and sometimes pleasure, but usually after the event individuals are remorseful.
