Icebreaker Research Paper

Decent Essays
We only have 5 days to come up with an IceBreaker activity for the AZSBDC Dept. meeting.

If you have ever participated in a group IceBreaker that you enjoyed, please let the team know in a returned group email. Explain the type of icebreaker (game, questions, etc), the steps and outcome of the activity. We can discuss the icebreakers and what would work within our time frame (15-20 minutes), in email or a conference call.

If I could have your suggestions by noon (12pm) tomorrow, it will be greatly appreciated.

Last month I participated in a musical chair icebreaker (this might take more time than allotted for our event), it was fun, interactive, and gave us interesting information/facts about each other.

My big home project was accomplished at Chase High School instead of it being completed at my home. Mrs. Kraus provided me and a fellow student ( Ashlyn Cox) the opportunity to clean the concession stand in the gymnasium so it would be clean for the Prom. We cleansed the concession stand with Oxygen Orange which is an all purpose cleaner and can clean almost anything. Prior to heading to the location we gathered four wash rags and we each had our own bottle of Oxygen Orange. When we arrived to the concession stand it was an absolute mess.…

“Miracle on Ice” On February 22, 1980 history was made. In the midst of the tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union, Team U.S.A managed to beat the U.S.S.R. team in a fierce hockey game during the XIII Winter Olympic Games. Due to the numerous American defeats throughout the entirety of the Cold War, ranging from the conflicts at Vietnam, the U2 incident, and the vast spread of communism, “The Miracle on Ice” boosted American morale towards the fight against the Soviet Union at a time when they needed it most.…

Although it is expected that this retreat is only for Latinos since it is hosted by the CLAC, anyone from any race can go because although the retreat is Latino-oriented it is not Latino exclusive. There is an application that every potential participant must fill out and the participants are chosen based on their responses on the application. The first thing I needed to do was to research the topic. I conducted my study by doing a search on my safari browser of both my iPad and computer. To locate sources, I typed the following words into my search: Miracle, on ice, facts, history.…

Within the group, we split the work amongst us in the categories we decided to talk about the main ideas such as: an overview, Revolution, Tiburcio Vasquez, Joaquin Murrieta, Agriculture, culture, marriage, and mining. After the reading of chapter four I’ve never knew so much information on California, I knew about the gold rush, but not so much about the abuse of Mexicans and foreigners had to go through during the mines, and about Joaquin Murrieta and his history. Finding information on marriages was a bit difficult, but at the same time it was interesting. When it came to the class participation, we came up with many different ideas like a quiz, or something similar to asking questions and answers. In the end, the group decided to go with a game “heads up” that hopefully the class would like to…

Overall, I was extremely happy with the effort my group put into this project. In terms of attending the group meetings, everyone was present and participated in the discussion. The first meeting took place on a Sunday afternoon at Baruch and the second meeting took place on a weeknight in the form of a Google Hangout. The times and places of these meetings alone displayed every group members’ commitment to the project, effort to accommodate for scheduling conflicts, and effort to ensure they are contributing their fair share to the group regardless the time or day of the week. At these meetings, we discussed ways to engage the crowd and critiqued each other’s slides and presentations.…
