There are a few resources that available in IOI Palms Villa Golf & Country Resort. The resource-based view of an organization plays an important role in order to being success in the industry field (A.ENZ, 2010). The main three resources are general organizational resources, financial resources and physical resources.
General Organizational Resources
First core resources for IOI Palms Villa is general organizational resources. According to the annual report 2014, it shows that the overall IOI group has obtain the revenue of RM1, 454, 45 million with the net profit of RM 903.74 million. In terms of segmental performance, it also has stated that the revenue contribution is RM 58,317 (‘000) from leisure and hospitality which inclusive of IOI Palms Villa Golf & Country Resort. It has shown slight decrease compared to 2013 which is RM 87,205 (‘000) and 2012 which is 72,929 (‘000). While for the operating profit is RM 4,377 (‘000) of leisure and hospitality. It also shows there is a decrease compared to 2013 and 2012 which is RM16, 655 and RM13, 430 (properties, 2014). It shows that the financial strength of the resort are consider …show more content…
One of the physical resources that IOI Palms Villa have is the location. IOI Palms Villa are situated in a high residential places in Bandar Putra (IOI) that located 5 km from Senai International Airport. Guests may arrive to the resort without travelling for long distance from airport. It also bring convenience for guests and golfers to visit shopping mall which approximately require 1 km distance from resort (SF, 2015).
In addition, this resort are located besides Singapore country which approximately 25 minutes’ drive through Singapore’s Second Link Expressway (Anon., 2014-2015). Therefore, not only attract local guests, but also has attract many Singaporean to stay in the IOI Palms Villa. As it located at high traffic flow area, it has bring benefit which is gain more revenue for the organization through walk-in guests. The location also provide a beautiful view.
