Several years ago, I was hospitalized for pneumonia. It was incredibly difficult for me to breathe, and my body ached. I felt weak and helpless. I missed two weeks of school, and homework piled up. I was concerned with my health and worried about catching up with school. However, the doctors and nurses there provided me with the utmost care and comfort, continually assuring me that everything will be alright. They were very compassionate and helped me get back on my feet. Their selflessness and assistance inspired me to do the same for others; I wanted to give that same comfort and care to those in need. Ever since this happened to me, I have been motivated to help people and perform altruistic acts. Whether it is through homeless feeds, donations, or fundraising events, I always found ways to make a difference in the community. A volunteering activity that is very important to me and I am very passionate about is feeding the homeless. To me, volunteering your services to someone who is much less fortunate than you is the greatest thing anyone can offer. Helping others is superior to helping oneself. When in a position to help someone, one should always take the opportunity to do so because you never know if you’ll be in that same predicament. Providing for the homeless isn’t just feeding them, it’s about actually getting to know them as a human being, on a personal level.…
