Let me tell you my story, the facts that I have seen with my own eyes.
I have worked in the state of Rhode Island for forty two years.
Always a full week many time I would work fifty hours a week, and sometimes I had a second job. That's alot of years and a whole lot of money add that all up lots of money wouldn't you say? I had to pay taxes for all those years,I was a home owner for fifteen years, had to pay property taxes, so I did my job I paid the taxes just like any other property owner.
In the year 2008 I became disabled, not by choice. I had to fight three years for SSDI and on April 2011, SSDI told me I had to go see one of their chosen doctors, I said to myself ok if this is what I have to do. After their doctors made their diagnosis I recieved a letter stating I am going to be recieving SSDI. …show more content…
My SSDI check was deposited in my bank account and I said what, before my check even hits my bank $104.00 is taken out for medical. I after all the years I worked and paid taxes I do not even clear $300.00 a week.
Here's where I am out raged, I have never been so embarrassed I went to the welfare office to see if I could apply for food stamps. I walked in the door and the people with the finger nails all done up, seventy five percent of them had smart phones, the jewerly, and here I am with clothes on that I had for years the only thing I could do was shake my head. In the big lobby you have to wait in not one person spoke english, and I was the only white American there very scary.
My name was called, I walked into a cubby office not pleasant at all, I applied for food stamps and maybe some help with medical. Well no medical and the food stamps $34.00 a
