Outcome of the hypospadias reconstruction is closely related to getting an expert knowledge about the surgical anatomy of the normal and hypospadiac penis. In general, the hypospadiac and the normal penis are similar in many aspects. The anatomical and histological analysis revealed that the neurodevelopment and the corporal bodies are similar except at the ventral aspect where there is arrested urethral development, deficient of corpora spongiosum, and abortive prepuce. (13) In general the penis is supplied by 3 pairs of nerves, the dorsal , perineal and cavernosal. The dorsal nerves run in two well-defined bundles superio-lateral to the urethra and it has been noticed that at 12 o’clock position both the normal and the hypospadiac penis are spared from nerves which makes the basis of the dorsal plication in cases of sever chordee as it is considered as safe area.
