Blood glucose regulation is easy to maintain through homeostasis however this is a disease that effects this process when glucagon and insulin's system is disturbed. This disease is called diabetes. Blood glucose levels increase to a point that the kidney cannot reabsorb the product therefore urine production increases. High blood glucose levels can also be referred to as hyperglycaemia which is found when blood glucose levels are high and your body cannot cope with the increase and fails to secrete insulin into the body to regulate the levels, this condition is most commonly found in people with type-1 or type -2 as insulin production is impaired however there are other ways or getting hyperglycaemia like physical and emotional stress. Diabetes can be detected through urine samples as when the glucose levels rise to over 20mM the kidney can't retain all the glucose and it overflows into the urine. This means with extra glucose in the urine creates an imbalance in osmotic levels. More water gets into the urine volume. When you lose so much urine you are required to replace it by drinking water meaning you may experience excessive thirst which is very unhealthy.
