On October 3rd, the estimated wind speed was 155 mph, just 2 mph's short from a cetegory five hurricane. Hurricane Joaquin is the strongest Atlantic hurricane since 2010's Hurricane Igor. Hurricane Joaquin was missed by Bermuda, it did witness speed at 50 mph. The Bahama islands saw the worst of it. About 85 percent of the homes in one of the settlements in Bahama was destroyed. Hurricane Joaquin which occurred in the Atlantic Ocean had more than 30 US states prepare for the worst. After Hurrican Sandy, Mayor DeBlasio was more than ready to tackle the attacks of the storm.
