Beloved congregation, good morning and a warm welcome to everyone here today. I would like to begin this service by deeply thanking every single one of you for coming to pay tribute to my most special son, Edgar Sawtelle.

Losing a child is a parent’s worst nightmare, especially when that child made such a huge impact in an unbelievably short amount of time in every single being’s life that he encountered, whether that life belonged to a human or animal. Edgar had so much more to give with an overpowering confidence and the potential needed to make a difference in this cruel world.

Now, standing here in front of you all, it is undeniably hard for me to put into words the overwhelming grief that I am feeling, as my worst nightmare has devastatingly come true.
