In an article titled “Child trafficking in Eastern Europe: A trade in human misery” by Richard Tyler, he states that: “International federation Terre des In Hommes estimates that 6,000 children between the ages of 12 and 16 are trafficked from Eastern Europe each year, with more than 650 being forced to work as sex slaves in Italy. The price of a girl trafficked to Italy can be between $2,500 and $4,000, with up to $10,000 being paid if she is a virgin”. Not only are children being sold for money but even for materialistic objects by their own families, According to the Article “Child trafficking in Eastern Europe: A trade in human misery”, Tyler (2003) “A case of a retired Italian couple who had been arrested for buying a three-year-old Albanian boy, paying $6,000 to the trafficking gang that specialized in “underage merchandise.” The boy had allegedly been traded for a color TV set by his father”. However the individuals who run these human traffic businesses have many methods on how to recruit slaves. Many of its current institutions, companies and respectable families/politicians owe their legacy to the system of slavery developed in the Industrial age. Europe is a slave continent in that it gained its ascendency through this very institution. It will never be rid of it. So it is very difficult to eradicate slavery in its current form of Human Trafficking from the continent because it is now an established tradition. What complicates the matter further is that in this current time frame many Europeans do not believe Europe maintains this system. They believe it is a thing of the past, something best forgotten. There is blindness in the European mind to its own evils. It is far easier for Europe to point its finger at the United States or Africa or China and declare these places unjust rather than confess as to who taught these places to operate under this injustice. So the actual first step is publicity. The public never believes anything unless it sees it properly told through a visual narrative. We can show statistics and interview specific individuals. None of it matters. What is needed to stoke public outrage is a large amount of footage showing the kidnappings, places of holdings, transporting, selling and ultimate placing of children and teenagers sold into slavery. And we need a lot of it. In this, America has
