Going from junior high to high school is a big step. And in this change, enrolling into the AP Human Geography class would be a good fit. I would be a good candidate for this class and have the skills to handle the rigorous course. I have consistently been in high level classes whenever the opportunity has arisen. I am used to a fast-paced, competitive setting and thrive in it. This goes all the way back to growing up with my two older intelligent sisters. Entering a regular class would be too slow and a bit boring for me. I enjoy going beyond the textbook and enjoy problem solving opportunities. I take on situations with more free rein that challenge my skills. I also work well independently with self motivation. In groups I enjoy taking the lead and pushing to a higher level than what is expected. I am usually the one designated to keep everyone on track with our topic during group projects. I have also developed my teamwork skills, especially through the past three years in junior high, learning to relinquish control and put my trust in my group mates. I have enjoyed being involved in local civics conferences. My avid interest in learning how societies and cultures work and interact will be nurtured. I love to dive into projects about the past, going back to elementary school when over the summer I would write essays about people and cultures that interested me most. I also love to read and write. My reading scores are at a post-secondary level, and I enjoy taking the steps from the reader to the writer. Discussing tough topics and looking at a variety of perspectives are fun for me. I decided to enroll in AP Government and Economics it is the class that has the most utility for me. Starting towards the middle of freshman year in Honors Global History, I thought going into a higher history class was a good idea, so I decided to enroll in AP US History, which was one of the better decisions in my life. That class was a good experience so I wanted to take AP again in junior year. There are multiple benefits that drove me to make this decision; the first is content. In every single class in school (maybe except for math), I want to learn the most about that subject so AP would provide the huge benefit of having the most content so I would learn the most about the government and macroeconomics.…

In 2002, a book called “StrengthsQuest” was released by Donald O. Clifton, Edward “Chip” Anderson, and Laurie A. Schreiner, in hopes it would give college students like me a simple, yet extremely helpful tool to guide them through their college experience. In this book one can find things called Signature Themes. The signature themes are given to readers after they take the “Clifton StrengthsFinder”.…

The ability to take college level classes in high school is an invaluable experience for students; it allows us to become academically prepared for college without the stress of an unfamiliar environment. Scoring well on an AP exam or SATs can translate to scholarships or college credit, which can open doors to study abroad or a second major. Reflective Letter For a long time I didn’t try that hard in school, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t have intelligence or that I dislike learning. I simply didn’t know how I learned so school was challenging to me and as a result I fell behind and sank deeper and deeper into the quicksand as I struggled. I am primarily an intrapersonal/Introspective learner or a verbal/linguistic learner. What that means for me as a learner, is that I prefer to work alone and that I may retreat somewhere quiet to work on a solution to a problem and that I may spend too much time trying to solve something on my own that could easily be solved with the help of others.…
