The book “The Big Time” was written by Tim Green centered towards a younger audience and written as a sports fiction book. The protagonist, Troy, a young football standout who’s life is absorbed in football, in the most basic level, and even on the most extreme level in the NFL. He has a mind unlike any other kid his age or adult for that matter. He has the ability to read the offensive patterns set during a game before the play even begins. As he examines the formation and he sees how the linemen are set, he can predict the play, and is almost always perfect in his predictions.…
Today I worked on my patient Andrea Cabrera. She has generalized moderate chronic periodontitis with localized advanced periodontitis. I reviewed her medical history and had to update it because her physician changed her blood pressure medication. For both clinic section, her blood pressure was below 125/83. After doing a pre-procedure rinse with Listerine, I did an EIOE and everything was within normal limits.…
From watching Mrs. Wehrle I learned how to smoothly run an ESE class. She kept the class calm and went with the flow of things. She had things spaced out and relaxed to fit the needs of the students allowing them frequent breaks. She remained calm no matter what the situation. I learned a few important lessons from Mrs. Gaither too.…
Little and her teaching techniques. As a middle schooler I did not think I was learning anything in her class; however, I can now see that I retained a lot of information from Mrs. Little because she constantly had something else we could work on. I also enjoyed helping the sixth-graders answer science questions. I loved watching the students light up the first time they understood something, like the difference between a food web and a food chain. This past week has been extremely busy because they are preparing for ISTEP.…
I previously did some service learning at this school and enjoyed the hands-on experience. The teachers and staff that I met and worked with had been quite friendly and dedicated to their work. Finally, my understanding…
This is a reflective piece from Cade Hall about a hunt he went on. Hall was in his truck listening to music and these were the lyrics, “You should’ve seen it in color. “ Mr. Hall had gotten out of his truck and then the cool fall breeze hit him in the face. Hall said that there were so many memories that came to his mind when walking on this old path. Coming here always brought a warm feeling that he could only feel here.…
The Power to Win must come from Within Before I entered the school I looked it up on a webpage Zillow.com. I know that my mom and my sister would use it a lot. Especially when they were looking into moving houses or buying a home. Tulip Grove Elementary school had a rating of 8 out of 10. For me that tells me that the school is considered as a school that is above average.…
The classroom was a haven for students to discuss practicum issues without feeling afraid to voice opinions and expect positive feedback/encouragements. During group supervision, the instructor gave information that would be useful in any setting and with any populations. She provided information about mental status exams, crisis plans, therapeutic group topics, goal setting, interviewing skills, assessment process, and counseling strategies/techniques. I feel that I learned more about counseling during my group supervision, I used most of the information Dr. Sias provided at PORT…
I chose the passage on page two to be my mirror in An Ordinary Man because both Paul and I have similar family situations, even though we grew up in completely different countries and cultures. We both grew up with a lot of siblings, I have seven and he has nine, and we are both the middle children. Also, when my siblings and I were little, we would huddle together during storms just like Paul and his siblings did. I chose the passage on page eighty three to be my window because I have never witnessed horrors like Paul described in his book. I can’t even picture such terrible things actually happening in front of my eyes because I’ve never witnessed anything like it.…
She taught me not only how to be an authentic and productive writer but also how to analyze and think critically about things. Everything she taught me helped a lot, not only in her class but it also prepared me for college courses I have taken here at Francis Marion University since…
Her language arts class was based on developing organization and learning how to communicate. She encouraged me to outline my thoughts before I started my essays. I also participated in her forensics club, a program that improved my public speaking and debate skills. Additionally, forensics club allowed me to write my opinions on paper the same way I voice them. As a thinker, I learned that not everyone will agree with my thoughts, and that everyone's opinions had the same value as mine.…
Interview with Mrs. Evans Interviewing Mrs. Evans, the special education teacher, was the one I was excited about most. I was really interested to see why she picked her career. When coming up with questions, I was not sure exactly what I wanted to ask. I tried to ask a question about something we have not learned in class.…
I often found it very difficult to keep up with things because the narrator would be talking about one topic and then jump to another topic but then come back to the original topic. I just found that extremely hard to keep up with and I think I could have gotten more out of the information if it was organized in a better formation. The speaker also was distracting by how he carried himself while trying to educate the viewers. His apparel blended in with scenery and it was very distracting when it some what looked like he had a floating head. I realize that has nothing to do with the content of the documentary but when it comes to doing a review of the episode as a whole I did find that that took away from the…
Each week presented a new topic that opened my eyes to many things. The readings were hard to keep up with at times, but I got through it and it benefited me tremendously. At times I would find myself uninterested at was being said in the readings, but after a while something would catch my attention and get me interested again. I know that this class will be very beneficial to me in everyday since the things I learned about are topics that are brought up everyday.…
She gave me things that I could improve on before my next lesson, but she presented them in a good manner. I was not being scolded for a bad lesson, and she gave plenty good compliments on it as well. I think exposure to a teacher like Mrs. Beers and her great attitude, will be beneficial to my teaching…
