The alligator, also known as a gator, lives in southern United States and China. Its habitat is swamps and marshes. There are multiple colors of the alligator. These colors consist of, green, grey, black, brown, and yellow. The scales are the skin type and the protection of an alligator. The alligator can grow up to 15 feet long! The typical weight of an alligator is between 400 and 800 pounds. An alligator can run up to 15 mph. The diet of an alligator is meat (carnivore). Fish, snakes, and turtles are all preys of alligators. Humans, birds, and raccoons are all predators of an alligator. Alligators are active during the day and at night.
