How To Write A Personal Reflection On Preparing An Activity System

Improved Essays
Going into this paper I had a better understanding of what my teacher exactly wanted. I learned that my teacher wanted a lot of supporting detail for any point that I had tried to make and also she wanted a deeper analysis. This paper was more longer and a bit easier for me compared to paper #1. This is because the assignment was to discussing an activity system that we are familiar with or want to join in the future. The first day we talked about this paper I knew exactly what activity system that I wanted to do which was band that I was apart of for six years from middle school to high school. I first began incubating right away thinking about what exactly I want to say in this paper and how much detail I should go in to meet all of her criteria. …show more content…
What I did was I created a outline for every subheading that I needed to discuss for the activity system. I included brief paragraphs for each subheading in my outline to have a beginning stage of writing my paper. The next day after my stratigies for success class I went to the library and looked at my essay and included more details to my outline making sure that I covered everything in my paper and after that I began incubating throughout the entire day. That night I had used my outline and made a really rough draft of my paper. The day of peer review I was prepared to have a lot of feedback about how I needed to use more supporting details and finish my paper because I only had one-third of my paper done. The feedback that I received from my peer review was somewhat helpful. This is because some of the feedback that I received was unhelpful feedback that I knew that I needed to complete such as complete the rest of my paper, use time new roman font 12 and double-space the paper. Some helpful feedback that I got back from my peer reviewer was that I needed more details in division of labor. This was helpful because I got a outside perspective of my paper rather just my opinion of how I

A research paper was given as assignment in my English class. This research activity weights a good percentage of the final grade. Although I have done research papers for previous classes, this project has become special for me because I’m trying to demonstrate to myself how well prepared I am, and also it’s the opportunity to show the abilities attained in previous courses during my time in BCC. Certainly I have to admit that due to all information that I have to compile, this research activity has become like a nightmare for me, but I will put all my effort to contradictorilymake of this paper one of the best papers I ever made. I chose the topic “Have Government actions made New York City safer after 9/11?…

I want to say that this paper can be great once you develop your arguments more. In terms of the introduction, I like the quote you included. It really gives the reader a perspective on what you are trying to say. An issue is that some of your sentences are too long and that will most likely detract the viewers’ attention from any points you are trying to make. I recommend making your sentences clearer and less lengthy, because the introduction is what gets the reader interested in your paper.…

English 1105 has been an important learning experience for me and my writing processes. After a response paper, discussion boards, and formal essays, my writing style and process has changed drastically from how it was prior to this class. Each assignment that was required has shaped me as a writer. The response paper helped me to analyze the content of an argumentative work and put into words how I felt about each aspect. Although not time consuming assignments, the discussion boards have provided opportunities to discuss issues with classmates openly and argumentatively.…

I choose to compare my seven fifty that I wrote. I am looking at the first seven fifty I wrote for this class and the last seven fifty I wrote for this class. I remember in the beginning that I was a little nervous about doing these, but as the year went on I got the hang of it and got faster on doing them. One of the first things I notice I did in my first seven fifty is that when I was answering the question I did not state the questions. I just referred it to what ever number it was on the Moodle page.…

Throughout the semester of English Composition I, I learned any new things. Over the past few months I have learned many new tips on how to create a good paper. Although I gained much knowledge over the past few months I did struggle with a few things such as formulating a written thesis statement expressing my main point in the composition, producing rough drafts preliminary to the final draft, applying transition strategies to organize the entire composition cohesively and coherently, and overall practicing various prewriting strategies, such as thinking, brainstorming, listing, and freewriting.…

In the beginning, I looked at the different ways of preparing for a paper and one stuck out to me. I would write an outline of what I wanted to write about and then I would make sub-headings under each bulletin describing what each topic would talk about. I used this process more with my research papers than with the narrative essays because I could see what facts I needed to look up and which ones I already knew. For the non-research essays, I wrote the first sentence to every paragraph first. After that I would write an outline of what I wanted to talk about in each paragraph.…

Even though my contributions to the intellectual life of the class might have not been the best I believe that they were helpful not only to me but to some of my peers. Specifically in the peer reviews, I felt that those were crucial to the class, because every student had the opportunity to read and analyze another’s paper. By giving helpful criticism to someone else 's paper we were all receiving a new view into the type of essay we needed to be writing, therefore giving our own essays a new point of view to revise with. Consequently, peer reviews helped me learn to communicate better because I really wanted to give constructive criticism that my peers would find helpful towards improving their essays, so that I could also receive some in exchange. For example in the last essay I wrote one of the critics that I had was that one of my paragraphs was all wrong and that it really just did not mean much.…

When it comes to writing essays in college, I’m aware that a lot of the essays I will be assigned will be about topics that do not particularly interest me. Sometimes writing about a short story or a poem can be fun. It exercises my brain and makes me feel eager to get my thoughts on to paper. Sometimes, however, assignments can be very boring or difficult to put into words. That is the worst feeling because I want to write a paper that is good but is also well organized and interesting to read.…
