It was a quiet morning for a Monday at Iron Club Fitness. I met with my trainer Sam to go over the preparation for my upcoming show. We are sitting in the juice bar going over what my diet will consist of over the next week. The diet consist of Chicken and Asparagus every day for the next week. Inside my head I am going crazy, I do not know if I will be able to do this. Sam says to me “Follow your diet and let’s hit some weights now”. I responded nervously “okay”. Today we are working out shoulders. As we are ending our workout Sam and I see our old friend Dustin. Dustin used to be our old gym buddy in high school but had to move away for college. I go do our old handshake with Dustin “Bro, what brings you back here?” Dustin smiles “The holidays and wanting to see my old friends. We should hangout this Sunday and watch some NFL football” Sam and I look at each other with bright smiles on our face and say “Totally.” Not remembering I have a Bodybuilding show to do next Monday

I go to the venue to meet Sam. I get a little pre stage pump before I go on. I am not feeling confident because I still have some fat on my body. I ask myself “Why did I have to eat that pizza?” I go on stage and see the competition, it is not looking good for me. These guys are way leaner than me. They named the top 3 and I was not one of them. I go back stage and see Sam. He is looking really disappointed. Sam ask me “what happened? Did you follow your diet?” I’m looking towards the floor and say “no, yesterday I ate a few slices of pizza” Sam looks at me angrily and says “If you want to be a pro, you have to have discipline with your diet.” I tell him this will not happen again. I will never make this mistake again, I will come back leaner than ever in my next
