Utica is the 10th most populous city in New York and the seat of Oneida County. Originally the area was a settlement for Mohawk tribes until the revolutionary war where many European-Americans decided to settle. During the 19th and 20th centuries the city underwent a period of prosperity due to its manufacturing centers for the textiles industry. Unfortunately afterwards the city went into decline as globalization closed many textile mills and the city got the nick names "Sin City" and the "City that god forgot". Utica is a interesting with a diverse population that offers a lot for visitors. Visit Utica and stay in one of these great locations.
