Three things that surprised me or I did not Know:
1. One thing I did not know about shoplifters was how to spot them. For example, if a person is wearing a warm coat on a sunny day. That could be considered suspicious because its hot outside and he is wearing a warm coat. There are many ways to spot them “Someone who enters or leaves the store quickly.” That could be a sign the person just grabbed something and ran without any thought. Another way to spot them is if you see them sending the employed to look for stuff while he shoplifts.
2. Another thing that I didn’t know was there are different type of shoplifters. In the article it talks about how there are Amateur shoplifters, professional shoplifters, and juvenile shoplifters. Each type …show more content…
One question that I have that was not clear is why shoplifters would steal things when there is a camera watching them. How do some of them even get away with it as well. Camera are there for one reason to detect anyone who is doing something wrong or suspicious. If a person steals something small and he get away with it does that not indicate he will do it again when he comes back. However, in this situation he will steal something more valuable and this time he will get away with it. Cameras should always work to keep record of what went on inside and why it happened.
2. Another question that I have is if some stores are getting shoplifted why they don’t all just hire a trained employ to catch them. It will save them money and keep the shoplifters away from the store. The only reason shoplifters are not afraid is because when they go into the store they know that they don’t have security. If they had better security and more trained employees there would not be so many shoplifters. You must have something that will scare them away. Security and trained employees is very important when you are running a big store because you never know what might
