Most of the time when you hear the word judge, you think of a good kind person serving justice to the criminals. Well in this novel And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, that is not what you quite receive. Mr. Justice Wargrave is not your typical type of judge. He has the thirst to kill in a spectacular way, but at the same time, he cleverly used an old nursery rhyme and followed the pattern knocking off all ten people one at a time. Mr.Justice Wargrave is a man who wants to serve justice to the ones the law can’t reach. This retired judge is wise, knowledgeable, and cautious in the novel. He was a mastermind creeping through the house killing each guest without being suspected. Close your eyes and imagine. You are on an island, and it just stormed so nobody can reach you. People are being murdered one by one in a certain way following a nursery rhyme. You would normally think this person is crazy, but no he is wise. How did he do such a thing you ask? This man was knowledgeable in his murder he knew what he was doing at all times. “I must appear to be the next victim. That would perhaps rattle the murder at any rate once I was supposed to be dead I could move around the house and spy upon the unknown murderer”(Christie 295). He faked his death because he knew that's how he could not be suspected anymore. He used something most teenagers do not use, something called a brain. Wow that is a new word. He was able to construct a plan late in the murder, not too early in the novel. He had to wait until he was in the clearing and people started to suspect and keep look out. This was a key concept to succeeding this murder
