“The idea caught on at once, for annoying mrs. Lottie was always fun. The beginning of the text I think that Elizabeth was still very childish and didn't know if it was time for her to grow, I think just overall she was still very confused. Saying that also leads into thinking that since she was very confused she wanted to hold on to the feeling of inicense and feeling like a child. I think she was scared of growing up and so in order to feel like she is still a child she would lash out at mrs. Lottie so in her eyes she isn't growing up.

for my last quote i will be using this because i feell this shows her finial thought of changing throw the text. when she said ‘and i too have planted marigolds’ i think it is very metaphoric, because in the story the marigolds themselves are very metaphoric. i think in this last quotes she finally is starting to put her own beauty in the world even if where you are is ugly. i think she has finally understood what mrs lottie was trying to do all the years of her planting marigolds. i think she has evolved into a woman and has finally reached adulthood, and by her saying that she has planted marigold i think she is saying that she is finally seeing all beauty in the world even if you are in the worst place
