All Gatsby wanted was Daisy to see how wealthy he was. Gatsby lives in a different part of town than Tom and Daisy. Gatsby lives in West Egg and Tom and Daisy live in East Egg. West Egg consisted of people who are newly rich. East Egg for the people that have been rich for generations.
Tom and Daisy finally go to one of the parties. Tom didn’t want to go but ended up going only to watch over daisy because she didn’t trust him with Gatsby At the party the truth finally came out about Gatsby and his job. Tom told Daisy that Gatsby’s money comes from bootlegging. She says that Gatsby’s wealth comes from a chain of drugstores that he owns. Daisy got mad that Tom said that. Gatsby got nervous because he thought she was mad because the party wasn't up to her standards.
Daisy and Gatsby got closer and closer. Daisy wasn't worried about Tom because he is able to have affairs and she didn’t say anything but Tom would get mad so he has no right to be mad. He got the women he was dreaming about since he left for war, and a rich and powerful lifestyle in West Egg. He achieved his Dream. He may not have her all to himself. But he still has part of her.
