Beatty was manipulating, conniving, and preposterous. When Montag started talking about what it was like before firemen actually burned down houses, Beatty tried, metaphorically, stomping and burning Montags assumptions about what firefighters were actually about. “Once upon a time! What kind of talk is that?”(Bradbury 64) And nowadays the same thing happens, not in exactly the same circumstances, but people like Beatty are alive today and destroying the youth. I honestly think the youth will be way more demented and immorally absurd in the next generations, unless our generation gets our children together. My favorite character was Clarisse because people like her would be great mentor for children of our generation, she’d be a great influence for anyone, she was kind hearted, and viewed life as a big adventure. She seen the beauty in anything. “She licked her lips. “Rain even tastes good.”.” (Bradbury 21) Clarisse was very Pleasant to read about. She was the highlight of Montag's day, even though it didn't directly say so in the book. Clarisse probably wouldn't fit into today’s world either, like she didn't fit in then. She’s too nice, and considerate. Today, people eat consideration and Delightfulness for breakfast. I honestly believe today’s U.S and the books U.S are both bad, but the book had a reason to why they were the way they were. That honestly makes today, our reality, worse than what the people in the book were going
