Our atmosphere has changed vigorously over time. Anyway, for the past 200 million years, the atmosphere has remained the same generally. Scientists theorize that Earth’s early atmosphere was mostly created by the volcanic activity back then; they say that the volcanic activity was very intense for the first billion years on Earth. They also think that the composition of the early atmosphere was as the following:
- Mainly carbon dioxide gas
- Very little or no oxygen at all
- Small amounts of the gases ammonia and methane
- Some water vapor
This atmosphere, the scientists say, is very similar to the atmosphere of Venus, which is 90% carbon dioxide. However, about 3500 million years ago, small little plants started to grow on the …show more content…
- A strong greenhouse effect possibly would warm up the sea triggering the melting of some glaciers which results in a rise in sea levels.
- The makeup of natural plant communities will change causing some plants to grow more vigorously and use more water.
What could be done to decrease the levels of global warming?
There are simple things you can easily do to reduce global warming:
1. Rely more on renewable sources of energy instead of non-renewable ones, e.g. solar energy, hydroelectricity, wind energy, geothermal .
2. Try to recycle, reuse, and reduce more often: recycle your waste, reuse materials you have at home, and reduce the amount of waste you produce every day.
3. Using eco-friendlier transportation, like a metro or a tram . Also, try walking instead of using the car all the time .
4. Plant more trees, because they help in creating more oxygen by photosynthesis, which helps in reducing the greenhouse effect .
5. Encourage people around you to support campaigns that are taking up the case of global warming, and persuade them to recycle, reuse, and
