If you really think about your traits/genes and where they come from it's quite interesting. See you have heritable/genetic traits which of course you get from both your parents, then there is this thing called, hybrid which is two different things that are put into one. Finally you have non-heritable traits which basically means that you don’t get things from your parents.So read more if you want to know more about traits and how cool they are.

Both of my parents are Mexicans but my mom is only half Mexican, the other half is American. As for my dad he is full Mexican and is originally from Jalos, Mexico, and has not one ounce of American in him. He does speak English but he’s not very good at it, but he does understands it. Both of my grandparents from my dad’s side are full Mexican and they come from Mexico too therefore making my dad a full Mexican. My mom’s parents are are a little different. My grandma is from Texas so she is American but she does have a little bit of Mexican in her. As for my grandpa he’s originally from Mexico, to be more specific Coahuila, but he knows English very well. So after all of this explaining I can finally say that I am Mexican American which is an example of a hybrid.
Non-heritable traits are the traits that you don’t inherit from both of your parents. This actually relates to me a lot. For one my hair color that I have right now, it’s blond and if you look at both my parents you can see that they either have black or brown hair. Also my ‘perfect’ eyesight, I wear contacts making it look like I don’t wear glasses but I do just like my parents.There really isn’t a lot of things that aren’t heritable on
