My groups hypothesis was that an increase in light wattage would cause an increase in the rate of photosynthesis.Because my group increased the light wattage by a relatively small amount, the rate of photosynthesis didn’t change that much. Both trials (lower light wattage trial and higher light wattage trial), had a photosynthesizing rate of .9 after ten minutes. The photosynthesis rate of the spinach chards exposed to a high light intensity did, however, increase faster compared to the spinach chards exposed to a lower intensity of light wattage. At zero minutes, both trials started with one floating spinach. However, when one minute rolled around, two spinach chards were floating in trial 2 (higher light wattage), while only one chard was floating in trial one (lower light intensity). At three minutes, three chards were floating in trial two, whereas one chard was floating in trial one. At four minutes, trial two had four shards floating, while trial one still had one. The relationship found in this experiment can be concluded in this statement: An increase in the amount of light wattage does not increase the amount of photosynthesis experienced my spinach chards in ten
