I have friends that live ten minutes away and friends around the globe. Social media gives me the opportunity to have all sorts of friends and interact with them as often as I like. In a study done by Mas'uda Durrotul it was concluded that the use of social media tends to enhance the intercultural friendship development. This shows not only can social media improve friendships, but it can also open the door for friendship outside those normally able to interact with. My friends on social media include family, coworkers, classmates but, not limited to associates and random people who send me friend request and I accept them. Now friendships on Facebook is important to me but I am quick to delete someone based on or relationship or what they post. For example, I unfriended a lot of friend around election time. People I had known for year took to Facebook and rant and raves about a certain candidate. When someone likes my pictures and videos it like the are giving me a high five. When I post I am purposely looking for certain people to reply and comment for example, when I post my son I am looking for my parents and family members to like the post. When I post selfies, I am looking for my friends or colleagues to like or comment. Even though many people might not want to admit it but receive likes, comment, and emoticons through social media is like a self esteem booster. I know from personal experience if enough people don’t like my picture I might take in down because I think its not a good enough picture based on the feedback I received. With posting I analyze my pictures a of minimum five minutes to find right filter, caption and to make sure this what I want to post. This process is this hardest sometimes because I will take fifty pictures of the same exact thing to have to go through each of them a decide which one I like but also think that others will like. I have no idea if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It may be
