According to Prentice Hall’s self-assessment library I am an ESTJ and a Type-A on the personality spectrum. Both of these types lean towards a no nonsense approach to nearly everything. In fact (Kroeger, Rutledge, Thuesen, 2002) states ambiguity and creativity are not strong suites of these types either. Working my way through the surveys did not give me any shocking insight, but allowed me to refocus my efforts of watching certain traits that can be negative. For example the portion of the survey for value attitude insights was interesting for my type. These surveys showed, according to (Prentice hall website) I had a strong value for my job and my job involvement was important. I further gleaned that I am satisfied with my job with caveats of getting a say in how things are accomplished. This result fits right in with my ESTJ and Type-A personalities. My attitude towards diversity is open. I think this has a lot to do with my military career as we are probably the most diverse major organization in America. The next portion of the survey dealt with motivation, ethics and emotional intelligence. I am a self-motivated individual and that was backed up by survey results. I struggle at times to allow more junior people I work with complete projects to learn, as I many times want to do them myself for faster completion. My ethics as compared to the college students were fairly on the strict side. I have worked my entire life in two very strict professions, first the U.S. Navy and secondly nursing.
