In The Great Gatsby, written by Scott F. Fitzgerald, the symbolic nature of the green lights conveys a different message to everyone: to some it is a message of hope, and to others the light is the thought of dedication to the idea of loving someone. Gatsby uses the green light as the guide as the building blocks of his dream. Within his past the dream of his future with Daisy was already starting to form.
