The NuvaRing is a small, flexible vaginal ring that is used like a tampon; you insert and remove it yourself. When a female insert the ring inside her vagina, she leaves it in for 3 weeks, take it out once menstruation period starts, then put a new one in after. They are the same kind of hormones found in the pill and they work the same way to prevent pregnancy even though they are administered differently with NuvaRing.
