This investigation report will talk about the simple, but revolutionary gear invention which led, affected and replaced many things. The gear led to time, transportation and more. It even started to make the first automation. The gear wasn’t much by itself, but the inventions which the gear led to changed history nearly more than any recent invention which mankind thought of. It is phenomenal how one tiny object can change so much. I will be answering the following questions: When and where was the gear invented? What industries did it affect? What did it replace? It is unknown who invented the gear, but historians think that Ma Jun (creator of the Chinese chariot that used the gear) invented the gear.
