How Diversity Can Be Used In Promoting Diversity

In my room, the books, photographs, posters and puzzles are the great use in promoting diversity and encouraging understanding of other culture, tradition and histories. Images project balance in the room between men and women as they are doing similar jobs, such as; doctors, teachers etc and urban indigenous are engaged with all range of activities and jobs, not only just in traditional celebration. In the dramatic play, we have dolls (males and females and different cultural dolls), dress ups form multicultural background. Through doll bathing activity, children are showed and discussed by educators that all dolls hair gets washed with same shampoo, even they all have different hair, such as, curly, dark thick hair, thin silky hair and even male dolls hair and include children in washing dress ups. …show more content…
We use all these colours to represent nature. We also can model diverse language to children, such as; police officer rather than police man and person with a disability rather than disable person. My biggest resource for children is my team from diverse background and male and female which shows children that we all look different, but we all provide same type of care. Moreover, we have family wall in the room with family pictures including their grandparents, aunties and uncles and connected their picture with world map and where they live and where they from. All families link to each others through extended family which gives children clear picture that we all live in this world no matter which part of the world.
