Thomas Edison was born in 1847, in Milan, OH. When Thomas was about 12 years old, he started to work as a train boy on a railroad in Michigan.When he was young his dad taught him to use morse code and operation of the telegraph. When he was working there he was a telegraph operator and his hearing was deteriorating during this time. He was self-taught on most of his things and he set up a mobile chemistry lab and a printing press, and he tinkered with many types of telegraph instruments. And so for this he got the nickname of “The Wizard of Menlo Park” and Menlo Park was where he lived. In the year of 1882 he established a new company called “Edison Electric Light Company” and finally is 1883 he installed his first light bulb as a company. When he was in his older ages in 1920 he was suffering complications from diabetes. The he ended up dying on October 18,1931.
Thomas Edison was an amazing person and did amazing things for America and the world. He invented many good things that help us and also he made things better like he did with the light bulb he didn’t invent it he made it better.
