Albert Einstein wrote to President Roosevelt and urged the US Government to beat Germany in the race to develop nuclear weapons. From 1941 until 1945, the Americans assembled a team of the best scientists in the world and via the “Manhatten Project” tried to build the first atomic bomb. American knew that by dropping an atomic it would shock the Japanese and force them to surrender. Little did they know what how it would even affect people years later.
On the 6th of August 1945 American Airforce plane, the “ Enola Gay “ dropped the first atomic bomb over Hiroshima, a city in Japan. It was dropped at exactly 8:15am and intensity killed 80,000 people.
