Factories would appear in the larger cities and it was rumored that living near a factory would mean a better future. As Dr. Gayle said in his article, “all such industrial production had two things in common: they took advantage of the cheap and abundant natural resources; and they used simple manufacturing processes that required little capital to convert raw materials into crude products.” In other words, industrialized countries would go and prey on unindustrialized countries because Industrialized countries would find resources in the less developed countries and create colonies so they could control the resources. Industrialized countries preying on unindustrialized countries is part of how the Industrial Revolution led to imperialism. The stronger nation would take over the weaker nations.
