The instruments that shaped The United States of America are merely products of fragments composed together to produce a foundation in which the United States stands. These fragments include ideologies from the European Enlightenment from Age of Reason which prompted an American Enlightenment to start beginning in the 1700s. Events surrounding the American Revolution were lessons for the authors of these founding documents to show the effects of they had upon being introduced to the citizens. Governments are seen less as an absolute authority which citizens are forced to obey and more like a system in which the government works for the people to help the people .Together the European and American Enlightenment ideologies along with the events surrounding the American Revolution manifested themselves in the founding documents of the United States of …show more content…
The American Enlightenment created new ideas like Deism, which was embraced by some of the founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson. Although it was not termed Atheism at the time, many Americans started to abandon the belief of god by reconciling with science. But the idea that manifested the documents of the United States is the idea of “God given rights” resulting in Americans being more tolerable to new ideas. The tolerable environment gave room opening new government ideologies like republican and democrat.
