Tesla believed that electricity could be found all around the world, and that it was easy to access. When Tesla came to America, he met an Indian Guru who taught Tesla about prana. The basis of prana is that energy surrounds us all, and is constantly active and moving. From then on, Tesla described the universe as a large, kinetic system that is full of energy and could be controlled or captured from any location. Tesla also said the energy was in longitudinal waves, …show more content…
His next goal was to transport power wirelessly, and also send and receive signals across the world. Tesla purchased 200 acres from James Warden in 1901, in order to create a wireless telegraphy plant. Tesla then had a 187 foot tall tower built, with a 120 foot foundation in the ground. The tower was made out of timber and steel, with a sphere on top. The tower was supposed to send and receive radio, video, and energy signals from anywhere around the world. Before it could be assured that Tesla was the first one to transmit radio signals, the foundation of the Wardenclyffe Tower collapsed, and then another scientist named Marconi became famous after it was known that he transmitted radio signals across the Atlantic Ocean. This resulted in the defamation of Tesla. After Tesla was out of the limelight, he concocted brilliant, thought provoking ideas for possible inventions. Tesla believed that in the future, electricity would be the fuel for cars, and that if particles were charged and powerful enough, a death ray could be created that would completely annihilate targets. The idea is that electromagnetic particles would rapidly accelerate in a cannon to the point it could slice a person’s body in half, similar to a knife. His idea was used in Star Wars, as the lightsabers used by all of the jedis. Tesla also believed in sending signals to Mars. Although his ideas back then seemed impossible, today they appear to be
