Lesson Summary and Rationale
1. Students will come to class knowing we are about to start a new unit. So after I explain the agenda for the day they will head to hiSTORY time corner where I will read them a hiSTORY time letter that introduces the new topic.
2. For this first lesson I will have the students learn important vocabulary terms. Since this is the first day of a new unit I want to make sure students know what all the terms mean so they understand the rest of the material. After hiSTORY time students will go back to their desks to get started on the next activity.
