Peter's Basilica. On 1517 October 31, Luther nailed his ninety five theses on the door of Wittenberg Castle Church. He is a point of discussion, with the intention of giving these, topic of 95 months shall, corruption, was launched a devastating criticism of indulgences as people of faith. Luther also called on him to end the sale of indulgences and sent a copy to the Archbishop of Mainz Albert Albrecht. The conference ended in shouting match which started his ultimate excommunication from the church. Through 1519, he continues to write to the lectures and Wittenberg. He was then summoned in March of 1521 before the General Assembly of the National Assembly, which was the secular authorities of the worm. Luther was again required to show any scripture to discredit his position but refused to withdraw his statement. On May 8, 1521, the Council prohibited the writings of Luther, which made him announce the edict of the worm. His condemnation was man-made, but his friends helped him to hide out in the Wartburg Castle. In seclusion, he has translated the New Testament into German,but while he was still under the threat of arrest Luther still returned to Wittenberg Castle Church. Then in 1522, he was miraculously able to avoid capture and began a new church, a Lutheran church organization.. He won many followers even from the Prince of Germany. In 1525, he married Katharina von Bora, who was a former nun had taken refuge in Wittenberg. Together, the next few years, they had the six children. From 1533 until his death in 1546, Martin Luther was the dean of theology at Wittenberg University.
