Giotto decided to used his natural, earthly technique that he is known for today. He was born in the mid-1200’s. His main focus was on paintings, although he created sculptors. He would create full figures from three dimension methods. As a kid, he spent his time working for others in Italy. His first biographer was Giorgi Vasari. Di Bondone spent most of his time working under Florence famous painter Cimabue. He helped Cimabue paint the scenes from the saint’s life on the Church of St. Francis. People considered his style unique and new. Although, Giotto was fairly new compared to Cimabue, you could tell his techniques that were used. Cimabue first discovered Giotto when he was 12 years old, while he was out drawing a picture of his father sheep on a flat rock. During this time, he spent this period exploring Italy with Cimabue. The more they traveled, his name and reputation started to spread. He later became a famous Italian painter, sculptor and architect from Florence, Italy. He was known to introduce new ideas of naturalism. Once his career took off, he was visiting places such as Rome, Padua, Arezzo, Rimini, Assisi, and Naples.
