There were few circumstances in which David would eat beets. But being surrounded by an angry army of farmers on one side, and a 200 foot drop on the other side, the beet looked like a pretty good choice. He wasn’t really sure how he’d gotten into this situation, but it was obvious he did something wrong. So without a second thought, he bit into the beet, ripping off a good chunk. The angry mob of farmers instantly settled down, looking relieved to see that the boy had eaten the food. But when David looked back down at the beet, it had changed into a giant cherry. David tried to hide it, but one of the farmers noticed it, and began to rally up the rest of the crowd. Crap. Now what? David thought. He turned around and looked down the cliff.
