How Accomplishment Changed My Life

Improved Essays
Everyone, at some point in life, has had that one moment where it brought them that sense of accomplishment. It makes you feel good and like you’re on top of the world. Nothing can bring you down. No matter how hard someone might try to rain on your parade, but it just won’t work. Sometimes it comes when you win an award or simply make someone’s day even better. That feeling of accomplishment came to me when I made a dear friend’s life a little better and in the process changed my life around. Even though feeling accomplished is normally because you did something for yourself, you can always feel it when you impact another person.
My journey began when I was in the first grade. There was a girl, in my class of all girls, and she had down syndrome.

It made me realize how much of a jerk I was and I didn’t like what I had become. I was trying to fit in with the other girls not even realizing I was outcasting others. The more time I spent with Morgan the more fun I had and I enjoyed waking up every morning to go be with her. The original girls I was with started making fun of me because I wanted to be with Morgan and not them. That made me feel terrible on the inside and in that moment I knew what we put Morgan through. I didn’t want anyone feeling that way again so I changed and became a leader from that day forward. I apologized to her mom, my mom, my teacher, and most important Morgan herself. After I did that Morgan and I became the best of friends and I was her mentor for two more years until we moved to Illinois. It was hard saying goodbye and I often wonder how she is doing. Maybe I can get in contact with her one day. She really helped me, but I also helped her.
At the end of the day, that feeling of accomplishment leaves a warm bubbly feeling inside for a while. Whether it was a goal that you reached or an award that you won. It lasts a while and sometimes can make a huge impact on your life. My feeling of accomplishment was when i changed my life around by helping Morgan become a more confident person and look forward to life. It was hard for me in the beginning but I am glad my mom and teachers did that for us both because it was the best

My most meaningful achievement to date is balancing a job and five AP classes this senior year. I know that this might not be a real achievement to others, but I feel proud of myself for being able to go to school and going to work right after and still being able to take on responsibilities at home. Some days I do feel stressed out and tired, but I stay optimistic because I know that working hard always pays off. This year was the most challenging because I had to focused on my classes, college and scholarship applications, and FAFSA. At this time I do have to admit that it was a lot of responsibilities that I had to get done, but I was able to manage my time and get them done with the help from my counselor, college coach, and the Gear Up…

There are several accomplishments that I can account for over the course of my life. Accomplishments may include perfect attendance during some of my school years, getting terrific kid multiple times, or maintaining a high GPA throughout my high school career. However, I don’t feel these accomplishments amount to my inner accomplishment of being able to discipline myself enough to realize and execute the concept that every action does not require a reaction from me. As you age you are prone to be presented with events or decisions that will ultimately reveal who you are as a person and what you believe in.…
