Horace Verbermockle Case Analysis

Improved Essays
On December 14, 2017, Horace Verbermockle was found dead on his bathroom floor, as a result of a fracture near the rear end of his skull. Minnie Verbermockle, his wife, claims that her husband had a hard fall. She states that he slipped while showering and was then on the floor laying unconcious. Did Horace really have an accident or did Minnie fix up everything to make it seem like her husband had a fall? After reviewing the evidence, it shows that Minnie was the reason why Horace Verbermockle was now dead.

The first evidence that caught my attention in the picture was the footprints. They weren’t any basic footprints though, they were specifically heel footprints. In the real world, guys do not ever wear heels. It’s not common to go out and see guys with those type of shoes. Usually, women are the ones to wear heels. Horace is a guy, so that shows how he was not the only one in the restroom when this tragedy happened, there must have been a woman in there with him as well. In conclusion, the footprints can be his wife’s, Minnie’s.

Another evidence found in the bathroom that supports how the footprints in there were not made by him, was how Horace was not wearing any type of shoes. As a rule, when you shower, you are always barefoot and will not leave any footprints behind, especially since your feet are clean right after you shower. Also,

Instead, Horace Verbermockle could’ve had an accident when he got out of the shower. The floor was really wet and there was a bar of soap on the floor. Usually, soap is very slippery and can be very dangerous. It is possible that Horace could have slipped on the soap as he was brushing his teeth and tried to grab on the bottle that was there, but failed. The bottle came along with him and broke as it landed on the floor. He hit his head on the ground and that explains the fracture at the rear end of his

An estimated 250,000 youth are tried, sentenced, or incarcerated every year across the United States (campaign for youth justice). There is large controversy regarding whether or not children and young adults should be required to be sentenced as adults, regardless of their age and circumstance. This is believed to be the most logical way of approaching this matter because every case should undergo the same consequences despite the criminal’s circumstances. An opposing view would argue that it is necessary to take into consideration the situation of each criminal case before deciding on the punishment. They would also claim that children specifically, should be given another chance due to their lack of maturity.…

On June of 1663, Anna Roleffes, otherwise known as Tempel Anneke, was arrested on suspicion of witchcraft in her village of Harxbuttel that sits near the city, Brunswick in the Holy Roman Empire (Intro. xiii). Peter A. Morton’s, The Trial of Tempel Anneke contains the transcript of her trial, in which she was found guilty and ultimately ended in her execution. Her case acts as an example, depicting one of the immense amount of witch trials that occurred in early modern Europe that led to over forty-thousand executed between the 15th and 19th centuries (O’Neill, Lecture, 10/31/17). Throughout this period, the attitudes involving witches were complex in nature due to the circumstances of society. Anneke’s trial exemplifies this by showing how the common people held attitudes of begrudging toleration towards witchcraft out of necessity, but were quick to alter their stance in regard to maleficium, while the secular authority exhibited complete bigotry towards sorcery shown by the…

Comminuted fractures are commonly caused by a high impact trauma or an already existing disease like osteoporosis. A high impact trauma, like a car accident, can cause a crushing force on a bone which results in the bone breaking into many pieces in a single area. On the other hand, a buckle fracture is caused by a high impact force straight from top to bottom of a bone. It can also be caused by a constant impact on a bone over time that causes it to bend or compress under stress and force. Athletes are more likely to have these fractures due to prolonged stress on their bones.…
