First, making sure that you know the difference between Roman Empire, Poman Pebublic and Rome Kingdom is important. I will just give a short explanation because that is not my purpose. In the beginning,the Roman Kindom was controlled by kings; afterward, the Rome Republic was controlled by tribunes,then Rome Empire was ruled by emperors, for example, Julius Caesar. Roman society was similar to Greek one. They both included a lot about social status.Thus, in Rome, people’s gender was not really pivotal;the role in sexual act is same with Greece: passive or active. Nevertheless,there still are some different between Greece and Rome. In Rome, homosexuality wasn't as widespread as Greece.Homosexual people had to go to certain places,as the bath-house,to find their partners.An anecdote about Julius Caesar let us know how Roman society saw homosexuality.Caesar love his body a lot; he shaved and bathed every day.
