Human remains have been scattered across the world and it sometimes only takes a few skeletal remains for an anthropologist to tell what species it is related to what species that lived millions years ago. So when a new skull of a species that could be a human ancestor is found the knowledge of it could offset what was previously determined by anthropologist. Recently in the European nation of Georgia in 2013 they found a 1.8 million year old skull that has been named skull 5. The anthropologists that are studying it believe that it belongs to our genus of Homo. The reason it is name skull five because it is the fifth example of a hominid that is a bipedal primate mammal that could be classified as walking upright. Stone tools and animal bones have been found at the excavation site as well. This question is very important to know because we rely on skeletons and old artifacts that help us understand the past better and clearly. How well did Homo erectus master the control of fire and how widespread was fire used? We use fire in a wide scale today; to understand better how they obtained and used it better would benefit us through knowing their capable intelligences. Another question is did Homo erectus grow up in a more human- like pattern and rate, or a more ape-like one? Knowing this makes it easier to determine the way this species learned and progressed in its society and it if even had one. All these questions are important to know and understand for our today’s society. The development of previous generations is important because it could lead us to cultural and human
